Monday Blues #3: Dukbokki 떡볶이

Ah, Monday...Monday...
Why are you always like this?
Just thinking about you already makes me tired...
And hungry...

Food, I am thinking about food tonight. I ate a lot in the past few days because of my hormones and because I got some rest.

Let's talk about a food that I like a lot.  Dukbokki (떡볶이) or Spicy Rice Cakes is a food that can be made in a few simple steps.

I first tasted it when a friend of mine created one. I am very fond of spicy foods. You can say that I'm very daring when it comes to food. I am willing to try almost anything (except insects). My taste buds can adapt easily on foreign food. That's one of the greatest things that I ever got.

So back to Dukbokki, it's main ingredients for me are the rice cakes of course, the fish cakes and the red chili paste. That's for me. It tastes complete to me already but of course. Some people add carrots, or green onions but basically it depends on your own preference.

It's easy to make, just boil mix this and that stir and it's done. I loved it. I ate a lot because of the taste and the spiciness. You can even say that what really pulled me into eating this was my love for spicy foods. Some of our male friends didn't like it because it has this fishy taste to it and it's really spicy for them.

I loved the rice cakes too because it was chewy and it kinda reminded me of my childhood. The fish cake was yummy too. If you boil the fish cake all by itself in a few herbs it tastes really great but that's another story.

Hmm...just by thinking about it makes me drool. But it's really late now so I should get going. I still have a quiz tomorrow so I'm off :D
