Monday Blues #1: Kiss The Rain

Yiruma's "Kiss The Rain" is one of my most favorite pieces. I don't play piano but I wanted to learn how to play it. Kiss the Rain was the very first piece I played using two hands and all my fingers...

Monday Blues...does anyone else have it?

I always feel tired on Monday mornings even if I slept the whole day on Sunday. On the movie "Daddy Long Legs" (a Korean Movie) they said that Monday Blues happens because people think a lot on the day before about the things one should do for the entire week. This is not the exact wordings on the movie but I think I'm making a point, right?

Today, I will start posting every Monday. Depending on my mood, I will post random stuff such as today's featured music. I'm feeling tired again that's why I posted "Kiss The Rain".

So why this music? Doesn't it make you feel even more tired when listening to such mellow songs?

Actually, no. When listening to "Kiss The Rain", I calm down. I don't know why. Maybe because of the high-pitched tone played so softly? Or the beautiful bass sound that makes the melody sound amazing?

I appreciate the bass sound more than the melody because I sing in a chorale. Without the bass, the melody sounds shattered...is that the proper word to use? High-pitched tones clash with each other when combined. There's no harmony...just clashing sounds that ruin each other. The bass balances the song...

This song actually has a different meaning for me. Though I don't really research about the meaning of the song (I'll do that after I write), for this person who hates rain the most, Kiss The Rain is like compromising with the tears of heaven. Just as the title goes, kiss the rain and love it...

It's not that I really hate the rain...I just hate walking on the mud that it creates. I hate the fact that my clothes get wet when I go to school or on my way home. Rain is good as long as it's not too much. The cold weather also calms me, which brings us back to the Monday morning blues. (I don't really like that I'm so random...sorry!)

It's really cold at night nowadays, but it turns hot in the morning. I want to sleep a lot but Monday calls for duty. I have to create reports, review for quizzes, research for paper works. There are lots of things to do, my mind becomes numb.

But a song as beautiful as this one can help right?

So I shared this song...

I hope that it can calm you as much as it help calm my nerves. Did you have an amazing weekend? Do you feel the same way?

Monday marks the start of the day so let's not get tired. Let's work hard!
